Chinedu Okoro is the founder of Continental & Global Services Inc., a janitorial distribution company that helps provides a vast array of products and equipment to the JanSan industry. Chinedu started in the industry when his parents were awarded a contract to clean Washington Mutual Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) at the tender age of 12 years old. He would assist his parents during the weekends the floors while his father dusted and mother cleaning the bathroom. As his parents business grew and he became older, he and his younger sister started to assist by taking on certain projects on their own. They would take on a facility on their own while their parents went to clean other locations to speed up the work. Eventually, as he grew older he went off to college to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. He would from time to time come home during the summer to assist where he could.
While nearing the completion of his masters, he went to China to visit a trade show called the Canton Fair. The Canton Fair was where he saw the tremendous opportunity for his parents to reduce the cost of their supplies. He went back home to the United States to prepare a cost analysis of what products made sense to purchase from China and what to purchase here in the US. After a deep price comparison he presented his findings to his parents to see if it made sense to them to pursue purchasing some of his findings. Four months later he and his father flew to China to purchase their first container and the rest as they say is history.
Now with 15 years of experience in the JanSan industry, Chinedu has taken the idea his parents had of purchasing products for themselves and made it into a business where he now sources products both domestic and international to help clients get the right products and educates them on its proper use.
Chinedu enjoys traveling and has been to 54 countries and hopes to reach 100 countries in the next 4 years. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge of doing government contract to businesses that are looking to get into that area of their business.
